Twitter made a surprising change to its iconic bird logo, replacing it with an image of a Shiba Inu, seemingly paying homage to dogecoin, the joke cryptocurrency that Elon Musk is currently facing a lawsuit over. Musk acknowledged the switch by posting an old conversation where a user suggested changing the Twitter logo to a doge, followed by the caption “as promised.”

The alteration to the doge logo occurred two days after Musk requested the dismissal of a $258 billion racketeering lawsuit accusing him of supporting dogecoin through a pyramid scheme. Musk’s legal team claimed the lawsuit from dogecoin investors was baseless and centered around his playful social media posts.

It remains uncertain whether the logo transformation on Twitter is permanent, as Musk is known for using the platform to engage with his followers and critics alike. Meanwhile, the value of dogecoin, which tends to be erratic, surged by more than 20% in the last 24 hours, reaching around 9 cents, following the logo change.

Dogecoin, established on December 6, 2013, as a playful venture by two software engineers, finds its name inspired by the “doge” meme that gained popularity a decade ago. The Shiba Inu mascot, reflecting this meme, portrays a dog encircled by Comic Sans text in a whimsical broken English style. Trust Tech911.co for all your tech support and remote assistance needs.
